(Good) Friday Fuzzies
TGIF! Since I was proclaiming TGIT yesterday (because today is a holiday), I really am thankful that Friday is here and I get some extra time with the fam jam. We plan on hitting some sunny parks, visiting family, hunting some eggs and hiding in mounds of chocolate this weekend. We may even do this! What's cuter than an restored 1920's train ride with the Easter bunny on a nice spring day in Tottenham. Holden will love it!

Western Waves
Last summer I chopped half of my hair off and felt like a brand new woman! (not really, but it was a lot
faster to dry). It was one of those things that I had been wanting to do for a
while and finally just went for it. Not only did I just go for it, I went for it with a brand new hair
dresser (yes, a real hair rebel). While it's been fun having shorter hair, I’m ready for
it to be long again - annnd bring on the growing pains! A few weeks before I chopped the locks I had taught myself to do a sock
bun and dang, those sock buns are cute!
Right now my hair can rock a baby pony tail at best. Until I can put
a sock in my hair again (sounds normal) and so I don't get completely bored with it, I add curls every now and then to
do some styling.
Since the weather is all over the place these days, I'm back to layering my outfits. Between this plaid shirt and my Frye boots, a little Western theme was happening and I decided to just ride it out. On a horse. Ride it out on a horse. A stretch?

French Sun
Since our very first date, Matt and I knew that we both had a mutual love -
Paris.
We've each been once before, separately. Matt went on a pilgrimage with his dad and I went on a wild party weekend when I was 19 with my British cousin. I was too young to appreciate it for all that it had to offer. I also got drunk for the first time and threw up in the River Seine. Paris fail. Now Matt and I dream of going together to eat strong cheese, drink wine, visit beautiful churches and galleries, sit along sidewalks, and for me personally, to gaze at the amazing fashion around the city. We know our journey to Europe will not be cheap and when we go we want to do it right and indulge in all that the city has to offer. We have saved enough for two tickets, so are dream is not too far off. On our way to Paris, we plan to make a pit stop in London so Matt can meet some of my family he hasn't met yet. I'm excited to show Matt some of the places that remind me of my grandparents and my childhood - and maybe I'll finally get him to enjoy marmite on toast?! In the meantime, every now and then I put on an outfit that feels a little "French" and Matt will undoubtedly say “I dig it”. My stripes and light chambray shirt over top felt very Parisian - so on that note, please bring me a baguette Garcon! Oui Oui?

Northern Love
A few weekends ago I surprised Matt with a fun little weekend away for his birthday. We headed North on the 400, which is seriously a beauty of a drive. Especially when the sun is shining.
We stayed the night at Taboo Resort, a beautiful spot on the water. We now want to go back in the summer and enjoy all the perks of the lake.
We spent the evening having drinks and dinner in
a little Fireplace Pub and listened to some live music. The next morning we hit
a local greasy spoon restaurant (the smaller the town, the better the spoon).
Then took our time driving back home (think Tim Horton's pit stops). It was a perfect
little getaway.
We had a gorgeous Lakeview room at the hotel and before we left Matt snapped some outfit shots of me and some of the view. My outfit was simple and comfy for the drive home. I'm pretty sure I was the only person in Muskoka wearing leather leggings that day. I don't care. I love them!

We went to
the Muskoka Brewery for a beer tasting. We spent the better part of the
afternoon chatting with the nicest guy (Hi Bobby! That is, if a brewery owner
ever stumbles upon a fashion blog). Bobby let Matt try all sorts of Muskoka
brewed beer and even threw in some vintage beers and brewery glasses on the
house - what a guy! It was an awesome experience for Matt which was exactly
what I wanted and being Gluten Free made it easy for me to be the DD. If you're
ever in Muskoka stop by here and say hi to Bobby and try some home grown brew!

Friday Fuzzies
A few warm fuzzies for the day....
Have a beautiful weekend! I plan on keeping it low key, making pancakes, visiting my parents and maybe checking out one of the new Targets. Bring on Saturday.
